About Us2010 Rebranding

We are pleased to announce a major update to our PICS brand effective March 1, 2010.

New Website

The PICS website (www.picsauditing.com) was updated to incorporate the new branding elements, and the new global expansion of PICS.  The site now contains a 2 minute video introduction as well as a more descriptive services page, including translations into languages where we now operate.  Don’t worry! We’re the same PICS as before, just bigger and better.  The inside of the website will reflect the updated logo, but all functionality and navigation will remain the same.  On the inside of the application, the only significant branding changes will be the new names of the audits (see below), and the live chat links moved to the top of the navigation bar.  Both of these changes reflect a more user-friendly, intuitive website.  We pride ourselves on having a very simple website, which is why our customers – both operators and contractors – have indicated that we are overwhelmingly “The Contractors Choice.”

New PICS Logo

We are retiring our original logo of 5 years…

for a new, cleaner logo that better represents our expanding business and customers:

The CONTRACTOR’S CHOICE was added as our tagline, to be used in most cases where our logo is displayed.  After a marketing survey campaign, we found that 81% of contractors believe that PICS has the best prequalification program available. We are truly THE CONTRACTOR’S CHOICE.  Another main element of the logo is the 9 box mark.  The mark is representative of our network of organizations.  The rust boxes represent the operator-members of the consortium, the light blue boxes represent the contractor-members of the consortium, and the dark blue central box represents the PICS clearinghouse.  If you are interested in posting or linking our logo on your site, please Contact us and we’ll walk you through how to link up properly.

Desktop Audit Renamed to Manual Audit

The Desktop Audit will now be known as the Manual Audit, or Safety Manual Audit. Although Desktop Audit is an inherited, industry-wide name for the review of the safety manual, it has been certainly confusing for our consortium members to understand.  We found in our focus groups that Manual Audit is a more clear description.  This renaming transition will likely take a year or so to complete, in the end, we’ll all be closer to speaking the same language.

Office Audit Renamed to Implementation Audit

Office Audit will now be known as the Implementation Audit, which represents that the audit is an audit of the implementation of the safety manual.  This audit contains training, inspections of equipment, tailgate meetings, certifications, and any other elements of a contractors’ safety manual.  The Implementation Audit is not just training verification, as often times is misunderstood, which is one reason why we found in focus groups that the audit’s name of Implementation is more widely understood.

New Service Names

The success of our InsureGUARD™ product helped guide the brand for our rename of the classification of services.  No services have changed, but we have developed a brand name associated with each class of service.  For example, the services such as the Manual Audit or the Implementation Audit are part of the suite of products called AuditGUARD™.  The five new service names are as follows:

  • PICS Organizer
  • DocuGUARD™
  • AuditGUARD™
  • GUARDBuilder™
  • Enterprise Organizer

Please see the services page for a more complete description of each service.

Auditors Now Called Safety Professionals

Our team of Auditors will now be referred to as Safety Professionals.  In most cases, the Safety Professional acts as a consultative auditor, giving suggestions and help in developing relevant safety programs.  This name change represents the commitment to Safety throughout our organization.
